The deadline for entries has now passed, but all are welcome to attend the film screenings which will take place on June 24th at 7.30pm upstairs at the Roundy Bar, Cork City.
It’s about time I did some promoting on this here blog for Mutant Shorts, the latest filmmaking event to take place in Cork. Ever since the Kommando 24 Hour filmmaking competition disappeared a few years ago, Cork has been lacking any sort of filmmaking event. Mutant Shorts, however, has come to the rescue by inviting people to create a short film based on a certain theme, and then sit back while it is screened to the general public during this summer’s Cork Midsummer Festival. Below are all the details you need, with a link to the application form. The announced deadline is Friday May 29th but this allowances are being made for late entries, so if you’re at all interested, please read on and get in contact!…
Mutantspace.ie is inviting groups of people to get together and create their own short films. There will be prizes [small ones] for best film but more importantly it’s an opportunity for participants to make their own short film [10 - 15min] and show it in Cork during the Cork Midsummer Festival and in other venues around Ireland as part of our touring mutantspace.ie festival.
Brief:
The showcase will have a theme which will be announced online on Monday 15th June to ensure everyone has the same amount of time in which to produce their work. Film makers will have a week to make their short after which we will screen the shorts on Wednesday 24th June @ The Roundy Bar, Cork @ 9pm
All resources of mutantspace.ie can be used for shorts and we will be working hard to ensure that this project gets as much exposure as possible.
All entries need to be registered before 5pm on Friday 29th May, (but late entries are being accepted)
